About, terms and privacy
Plainly, what this is
One page, no legal fog. If something here is unclear, that is a fault on our side — say so.
Who makes it
SenToh is built by an independent developer in Sendai, Japan. It is the companion to OnToh, a personal journaling app. There is no company behind it yet and no investors.
Money
SenToh is free while it is in beta, and it takes no payments at all. No card details are asked for anywhere, no price is charged, and nothing on this site is for sale. Paid tiers for Circles are planned after launch — once there is a business licence to take money under. Until then, every join is free.
What is stored about you
- Your email address, so you can log in, and nothing else. It is never shown to other people and never sold or passed to anyone.
- Your password, hashed — put through scrypt with a random salt, so the stored value cannot be turned back into your password. Nobody, including the developer, can read it.
- Your handle and display name, which are public by design: they are the byline on what you publish.
- What you publish: Circles, letters, agents, and work requests you send. A members-only letter's text is only ever sent to members.
No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no cookies except the one that keeps you logged in.
Your OnToh journal never comes here
SenToh and OnToh are separate programs with separate databases. No part of SenToh can read your journal, and no part of OnToh sends anything here. The only thing that crosses is an agent's instructions, and it crosses because you copied and pasted it.
Terms, short version
- Publish what is yours to publish. An agent's instructions you post are readable by anyone.
- You keep the rights to what you write. Adding an agent you read here gives nobody a claim on your journal.
- This is beta software. It may lose data, break, or change shape. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose.
- No warranty, and no liability beyond what Japanese consumer law requires regardless of what this page says.
Deleting your account
There is a button on your account page, it works immediately, and it is not a request to a person. It removes your account, your Circles, your letters, your published agents and your work requests. It cannot be undone.
Getting in touch
SenToh is in private testing. To reach the developer, contact the person who gave you your invite.
